So far this semester has been challenging. I decided to attempt to dual major in multimedia design and three classes is almost too much for me.

Through out ASP.net and C# I have learned a lot. I am beginning to see the importance of server side programming. I am also beginning to see how challenging it can be to build a functional web site. I also have been gaining lots of insight into how I would go about creating a web store, or in my case a collection of stores. I have wanted to build a web site that is a collective of stores that sell unique handmade items. I am anxious for the knowledge to build a secure site that hosts a shopping cart and other such features. It is neat to be able to see the HTML, CSS, and Programming put all together into one web site and learned how they all function together.

Chapter 6 and IE9

I have enjoyed learning a new programing language and am anxious to learn more about SQL. In this chapter I have learned alot and know that debugging is a very important part of programming. It is essential to creating web pages and applications that function well and are user freindly. Debugging and trouble shooting can be difficult at times but is a very important skill to master. I'm optimistacally hopeful for Microsoft and their IE endevors as I have used IE most of my life. I use firefox as well and think that having multiple browsers is a great thing. I think IE9 is a good step foward. I hope that as the browser battles ensue great new technologies and improvements wil evolve. Speed seems to be one big issue, however I believe not only the speed of a browser but how quickly and easily it is to use is vital. I think more emphasis in the area of user freindly interfaces could use just a little more attention from all the browsers. That is not to say that they haven't made any large steps, but I believe there are many more to go.

Chapter 7

I have been waiting to learn more about Database's and am glad that we have. It is helping me understand web sites more robustly. There are so many applications for databases and I am looking forward to building my final project. The article talked quite a bit about the same information as the book, however, I believe the book and videos explained the information better. The fellow that wrote the article didn't make it simple enough for my knowlege base.

Chapter 8

I have learned a lot about SQL and how to work with it. I know there is still much to learn and many ways to work and manipulate SQL that are not covered by the book. Web development is a constant learning process and will take lots of practice to master. The ASP.net forum information was interesting. I did not understand SQL injection fully and now have a better understanding of it.
