Welcome to Washington DC

A Place of Forgotten History

Most people look at vacation spots as a tropical get away or a cruise out on some ocean side. Places like DC get overlooked because of all the history that it may have or the fact that its just thought to be our Nations Capitol.

Personal Experence

I have been to DC three times. I visited there twice in high school and then from 2008 to 2010 I lived there or in the surrounding southern Maryland area. During my first two visits I stayed with my family for a week each time. While there we took a lot of pictures and walked a lot of different places. There was always lots to see and do.

Times of the Year to Go

Jefferson Memorial with Cherry Blossums

preparing for the paradeDuring the spring time DC has Cherry blossums that show up around the month of April. These can be seen all around the different types of monuments

During the 4th of July there is a parade that takes place around the mall and then that night there are fireworks in the area. During this time its good to be off the streets in Southeast DC.

Not to mention that there are a wide variety of restaraunts and fun places to go and see. While there you'll have the oportunity to ride on the Metro(Subway) throughout DC.

There are a wide range of museums and monuments there. A few of them are listed below »

The list of places to go and see goes on forever. There is a lot in Washington DC beside politics and ghetto. We tend to forget where we came from as a country and I find it a great place to remind myself of what we truely have and where my herritage is. Washington DC is a place to find out that our country came from nothing to something great. There's a lot of stuff there to get lost in to go and see. So take plent of trips and enjoy the visit!
