About me
My name is Cody Staub, if you haven't caught that by now. I'm here at CSI because I aspire to be a flight nurse. Next semester I start the RN program, with all of my pre-requisites out of the way. Currently I'm working on my EMT-Basic and, with any luck, will be able to finish my EMT-Advanced next semester. I've been involved with healthcare since I was 16 and fell in love with it. Currently I work at St. Luke's Magic Valley as a clinical assistant, EMT and health unit coordinator in the emergency department. I also work at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls in basically the same capacity. My favorite time at work is when I get to be in on a critical patient or an unusual injury. I enjoy the rush that comes from not knowing what is going to be coming in your doors in the E.R.
I have also been involved with computers most of my life. When I was younger my father was pursuing a computer science degree and that's where I got a jumpstart on things. By about 4th grade not only was assembling PCs from parts I could find and playing with Windows 3.1 and DOS, but I was also one of the computer technicians for the school district and helped build their first website in 1996. So basically I've been working with HTML since 1996. In high school my buddy wanted to learn how to make a site for selling skateboard rails we were making in welding. Long story short, he got really into web design and coding then went on to make a bunch of money on "myspace" sites and start his own web company. Since them and working with him I've designed and made dozens of little sites. I still maintain a pretty heavy interest today, which is why I'm here trying to formalize my knowledge.
As far as my personal life goes, I was born and raised in Blackfoot, ID. I currently live in Twin Falls. I have a dog whom pretty well takes the place of a child in my life. She's some sort of German Shepard mix very closely resembling a wolf (I get that a lot). If you click on the picture of her it will take you to my Picasa album of her.
Well that's about all for me. I enjoy this class so far and am sure I will as the semester continues!
